———————————
We are Two Hours Left, a french alternative band born in 2009 in Toulouse, Fance. There are two members: Nicolas Richer and Romain de Boissiere.
History
We first met in high school where we performed together Hotel California from Eagles during a show. Romain was the drummer and Nicolas the bass player.
The year after, we play in the same band: The WakeN. This was in 2006 and it lasted for two years. During that time we performed two big shows with other bands from high school.
One year after the split, we decided to created a new musical project together: Same Old Project. We were playing two acoustic guitars, we were both singing and we had one goal: to show the world what we were capable of. We only performed once during a Prom Night where we played many acoustic covers.
Time goes by and the rehearsals in Nicolas’room go on. A few original songs appear, we record them with the equipment we had at that time but it was not enough. In summer 2010, when we have a good-enough equipment, we finally begin to record our songs at home.
September the 1st is the date of the official launch of the band. Our social profiles are created and the website opens. Only two songs are released at that time: “At First Sight” and “Night’s Waitin’”.
Music Genre
It appears to us it is really hard to define our music with only one genre because we are too eclectic and our songs are different one from another. You can easily find one hip-hop song followed by a pop one… And this is what we wanted from the beginning after all! All these songs we listen to inspire us and our songs are often driven by that way.
To define us with only one genre we could say “Alternative” because it is vague and there are lots of genres in it. But if we use different genres we could say that our music is a mix between pop, rock and hip-hop. If you think you can describe us differently, do not hesitate and tell us!
Here are the main bands we listen to; They make our everyday influences: Incubus, Curtiss, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Panic! At The Disco, Paramore, Emery, A Day To Remember, Silverstein, The Used, Deftones, Archive, Flipsyde, Gorillaz, Craid David, Drake, 3Oh!3 et Travie McCoy.
Philosophy
Our music is free and under Creative Commons. This means you can share it as you want, give it to who you want, you can remix it, cover it but you have to do a few things in exchange:
- Tell everyone we created this music first (attribution)
- Do not use it for commercial purposes (we do not, why would you?)
- License your work under the same conditions: the BY-NC-SA 3.0 CC License.
We record our music in what we call our “Room Studio” and what’s fabulous is that we don’t have to pay for it. We do not plan to pres and sell physical copies of our CDs for now, that means we don’t pay anything to produce and record our music. These are the main reasons why our music is free… But this also comes from our strategy.
Our goal is not to be signed and try to live as a band right now. We both have duties (school, job) and we are not in a hurry, that is why for now we only want to spread our music worldwide. You can easily download all of our songs for free in the “Download” Section in exchange of your e-mail address. We do not plan to sell it to anyone, this is just the way we use to create our fan base with a monthly newsletter. You can find our covers in the “Videos” Section and check our Youtube Channel.
